The Architects

It is no secret that buildings in the City are far taller than they were a decade ago. Towers soar, stabbing into the sky. No doubt they will continue, year after year, in the same fashion, forever rising. Despite advances in design and materials, the welfare of resident employees has benefited little. Taller buildings have led to an increase in accidents, due to the high risk manoeuvres carried out by workers at such unfathomable heights. Indeed, many architects of the old school have argued that these triumphs of technology have had a detrimental effect on the work force, not only leaving problems unsolved but, in fact, exacerbating them. Such arguments are of course nothing short of total ignorance and small-mindedness. Even our forefathers knew of that delightful altitude at which gravity no longer poses a threat.
